Adaptation Displacement: It's based on a novel by Terry Southern, but chances are that if you mention the name to someone, it will bring up the movie rather than the novel.
Anvilicious: There's a lot of political and social commentary here, and none of it is subtle. Contemporary critics took the film to task for being too heavy-handed with its message to make an effective point.
Ho Yay: Especially the "Black & White" sequence, but it's meant to rattle a racist aboard the ship.
Nausea Fuel: The finale involves (don't highlight if you're squeamish) a vat full of animal blood, feces, and urine, with pound notes floating on the surface. You know what happens next.
