"Back Out There"

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Lincoln and a girl fight over an Ace Savvy comic book in the store and the fight ends with a punch. Who hit who? We can't say for sure, because the camera, instead of showing the punch, prefers to focus on Lincoln's friends. Clyde, after witnessing the punch, says they're going to need an ice pack. But in the next scene, when Lincoln goes to the movies with his friends, he doesn't have a black eye or an ice pack. Although the entire context of the episode points to the opposite, it is not impossible that Lincoln hit the girl to get the comic book.

"Spell It Out"

  • Alternative Character Interpretation:
    • Why did Lucy summon the pets to her seance? Her siblings aren't interested in her dark subjects? Does she find the animals quieter, and therefore more practical for the occasion? Or does she consider animals to be purer in heart, making it easier to communicate with the dead? Maybe all of that at the same time?
    • Is Lucy a gluttonous girl? Or does she just eat all that food to make the most of the power she's gained over her voiceless brothers?
  • Strawman Has a Point: Even though Lucy feels harmed by the family, she needs to accept that her wishes cannot always be granted. If the majority votes for something she don't like, it's up to her to respect the decision.
