YMMV / The Lost Heir

Go To

  • Contested Sequel: Demon War, mostly due to its difficult skill checks, especially in the endgame.
  • Designated Evil: The Karma Meter can get pretty arbitrary at times, but the ultimate example of this is the Druid of Decay, a prestige class where a powerful druid focuses on disease, rot, and decay as aspects of nature. There is nothing evil about the uses of this power (such as rotting a spear thrown at you), and there's nothing specific you have to do to get it, but only pure evil druids can follow the path anyway (in fact, the requirement is more stringent than it is for Necromancers and Dark Knights, who really are doing stuff that ranges from skeevy to vile). This isn't explained, just presented at face value.
  • It's Hard, So It Sucks!: The heavily stat-based and often unpredictable gameplay turns some people off it. The third game in particular suffers from this.
