- Nightmare Fuel: Dinky's drug-triggered hallucinations in the Very Special Episode Prescription For Disaster, including him seeing Grandpa Little as an abominable snowman and a gorilla, his balloon-powered car as a huge clown face, and more.
- Tear Jerker:
- In "Looking for Grandma Little", when Grandpa believes that his family doesn't love him anymore.
- Dinky's goodbye to Cara at the end of "Ben Dinky".
- Retroactive Recognition: Dinky Little and George Bigg are voiced by Robert David Hall who would go on play Dr. Al Robbins and be the original voice of Azmuth.
- Toy Ship: There have been times where Lucy can get a bit flirty with Henry, as she has occasionally done things like blow him a kiss and give him a little peck on the check earlier in the series.
- Also while not overly egregious the show can make it a little easy to forget that Tom & Lucy are siblings, considering how close & affectionate they can be. Case in point on how the end of the episodes frequently feature Tom & Lucy holding hands and having their tails form a little heart as they walk away.
- Henry also occasionally has this dynamic with Marie, who is one of his friends. Particularly in the episode A Little Gold, A Lot of Trouble.
