YMMV / The Little Pony Legend

Go To

  • Ass Pull: Having Korra and Mako's daughter be another Avatar who exists at the same time as Korra, given that it breaks all established rules of how the Avatar cycle works.
  • Badass Decay: Enforced. While the great change was necessary to save both worlds, it did have some side effects. For example, Celestia and Luna lost control over the sun and moon due to their world beginning to operate more on regular world principles, though they still have the power to use their celestial bodies to keep an eye on others.
    • Also, despite being Famed In-Story, Leilani helping Zuko, Tonraq, Eska and Deska does no better in stopping Zaheer from freeing P'Li like in canon. Might be justified considering it's been a while she's faced actual combat, living reclusive for sometime.
  • Canon Fodder: Depending on whether Maggie continues to expand her story or not, the fact that Korra's daughter is somehow also an avatar to be opens the door wide open for what might happen in the next cycle.
  • Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Timber Spruce is a much more likable character during the flashbacks for Legend of Everfree than he was in the film. Instead of being a Narcissist who shamelessly flirts with human Twilight, he becomes fast friends with the human versions of Twilight and Flash as he tells them about his dream to be an artist, and happily supports their relationship. This also sadly becomes a case of Alas, Poor Scrappy when it is revealed that the real Timber died in a car accident long ago, without his friends learning about it until much later.
  • So Okay, It's Average: Overall, while the series does explore some intriguing possibilities with its What If? premise, it's also weighed down by the Author Tract and mediocre writing, making it interesting but not amazing.
  • Spoiled by the Format: Due to being a fanfic, a lot of the surprises regarding characters is ruined by knowing the characters of the shows well.
