• Harsher in Hindsight: When Meggy meets Phoenix Wright, she says in this version that he's to lawyering what her idol One-Shot Wren is to Splatfests. It was a cute moment at the time, but it hits differently considering what Wren does in Western Spaghetti.
• Moment of Awesome: Lawyer Kong, of all characters, gets one in Chapter 16 during his temporary alliance with the SMG4 crew against Mr. Grizz. Thanks to the Octobot that DJ Octavio lent him, he plays funky music to help our heroes stop the giant bear. Not all that surprising, considering his real identity.
• Woolseyism:
  • In the original version of "SMG4 Gets Sued", Lawyer Kong says that five years have passed since Nintendo made Super Mario Odyssey. This was changed to him (or rather, a Nintendo Ninja) saying that it’s only been a few years since the last major Mario game, making things feel more open and less dated.
  • Turning the Holy Bible from "Mario Can't Play With You Anymore..." to an edition of the Nintendo Force magazine was another welcome change. Not only does the existence of the Holy Bible not really fit into the canon Mario universe, but it’s hard to put it past the in-universe Nintendo to advertise their magazines this way.
