YMMV / The Karaoke

Go To

  • Catharsis Factor:
    • The "Stab" ending is highly satisfying for players, getting to stab the disgusting rapist coach to death. Sadly, Mira does not feel the same way.
    • Alternatively, the "Caught" ending is equally as satisfying for players, as it ends with both Mira and Moeka unharmed, and the coach is arrested by the police and locked up.
  • Complete Monster: The basketball club coach raped and traumatized 10 girls in the past, and tries to do the same to heroine Mira and her friend Moeka depending on the ending. With his victims having also committed suicide thanks to the trauma, the coach also recorded and took pictures of his female students changing their clothes in the changing room.
  • Even Better Sequel: This game is regarded to be among the best games created by Chilla's Art, with polished graphics, full voice acting, and a compelling story that showcases the very real horrors that people, especially girls, can face in real life.
  • Nightmare Fuel:
    • The coach. He’s in charge of the girls’ basketball team who has been preying on high school girls for years. In both routes, he can either get Moeka or Mira. Moeka’s story is really terrifying because you hear when she’s moments away from getting raped. Some people may not realize it right away, but for others, they know what’s going on and they’re helpless to do anything to help her. The game doesn’t even allow Mira to leave the karaoke bar to go get the police, meaning she’s out singing while her friend is alone with a sexual predator.
    • Mira’s time at the karaoke bar. There’s a strange guy that’s constantly watching her and runs into her room when she’s singing. He even leaves her food and drinks, something that older players rightfully assume is drugged. While nothing appears to have happened to her aside from having a feverish dream, it’s still frighteningly true to real life cases.
    • The climax of the karaoke route. Mira realizes that her coach is coming to the karaoke bar because of the photo Moeka sent her. Mira sadly has no one around to help her because everyone is mysteriously missing and the coach has blocked her in with his truck. After Mira contacts the police, she’s forced to wait and hide for four minutes. As she’s walking around, the coach is constantly calling out to her in the sleaziest way possible.
  • The Woobie: Poor, poor Moeka. She's shown to be a perfectly nice and upbeat girl who goes through absolute hell by becoming a rape victim at the coach's hands, all because she left her keys at the school. In three out of six endings, she suffers painfully by being raped, and ends up killing herself in the "Not Caught" ending from the sheer trauma of what she went through.
