- First Installment Wins: The general consensus is that the first book is good, or at least decent. Every book afterwards, however, is generally seen as worse than the first one. When people discuss the books, they'll often refer to them as "the Evermore books" more so than the actual name of the series, The Immortals.
- The Scrappy: Haven. Love or hate the series, there are a number of reviews on Amazon.com that indicate many people harbor a strong dislike for Haven and general bewilderment as to why Ever considers her a friend, considering Haven's envious attitude towards Ever and general petty behavior.
- Sequelitis: Many readers found that the series goes increasingly downward in quality after Evermore. One of the biggest criticisms is that the main conflict of the series boils down to the leads being unable to have sex and their quest to overcome this, which is stretched out across a total of six books; lots of readers found this both repetitive and underwhelming after a while.
- So Okay, It's Average: The first book, Evermore, at the very least is generally seen as a decent teen Paranormal Romance story; nothing groundbreaking but enjoyable enough. The sequels tend to be more contentious.
