• Complete Monster: Sam Deercot, also known as The Codemaster, is a cruel Serial Killer who's stalked, kidnapped, and murdered numerous people in the past. Targeting Eric for an affair he had with his boss's wife, Sam chooses to broadcast Eric's humiliation and torment to the world while allowing his audience to influence whether he lives or dies, and reveals the infidelity with private videos. Though a victim of parental abuse, which lead to the murder of his parents, his actions since have only shown him to be just as heartless, with his known victims coming from abusive backgrounds themselves. Even the audience wasn't safe from his games, having been tricked by a third alias of his with strange messages and videos, only to distract and manipulate them away from their goal of saving Eric—who likely died offscreen, just another victim in Sam's long list.
• Narm: "This Tape Will Send You To Hell" came after a major moment of audience participation, and after much series build-up and mystery. The tape itself was footage of the police confronting a Creepy Child who had killed his parents, complete with creepy singing and laughter, all of it far more overblown and cartoonish than anything in the series up to that point.
• Realism-Induced Horror: Unlike many other Alternate Reality Game series, this one contains no supernatural or science-fiction elements. Instead, the story is about the realistic situation of a man being kidnapped by a crazy, but ordinary, Serial Killer in a mask who records and uploads his suffering for entertainment, while his father can do nothing but upload videos on his own channel tearfully pleading viewers to help find his son.
