• Catharsis Factor: Like Fred before her, it is deeply satisfying to see Serena arrested and set to face justice, if not for the crimes she committed in assisting Gilead's rise to power, then for her abusive treatment of June.
• Fridge Brilliance: Even if Serena somehow manages to get off lightly or even escape justice for organizing June's rape with Nick, Fred's ensured that she'll never have any access to Nichole again — since it's now common knowledge he's not Nichole's father, Serena can't use any legal jargon about her position as the wife of the baby's father to claim her. It's likely the reason why Serena didn't mention Nichole's true parentage to the Americans.
• Harsher in Hindsight: When June tells him that Beth has nerves, Joseph responds that it’s almost as though she were worried about dying (during the execution of June’s audacious plan.) Beth is killed only three episodes from now.
