- Adaptation Displacement: The film adaptation is much, much more famous than the novel it's based on. Mostly thanks to having plenty of A-list stars in its cast who gets to take turns kicking Nazi butt.

- Retroactive Recognition: Richard Harris is a One-Scene Wonder as the bomber pilot who explains the impossibility of bombing Navarone from the air. This came two years before his Star-Making Role in This Sporting Life.
