• Awesome Art: Liam Sharp channels his inner H. R. Giger and Neal Adams for the artwork and holy hell is there a lot of great alien Scenery Porn.
• Broken Base: Fans either like Grant Morrison's take on Green Lantern for focusing more on Hal Jordan's Earth-based foes and the Guardians of the Universe no longer being depicted as clandestine authoritarians or despise it for eschewing most of the concepts established in Geoff Johns' much-loved run as well as finding Morrison's usual metaphysical style an ill fit for the mythos.
• Replacement Scrappy: A minor case. Some readers are disappointed that Xudarian Green Lantern Trilla-Tru seems to have replaced Somar-Le, who was a highlight of Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps due to her Adorkable personality. Trilla isn't exactly hated, but many wonder where Somar went.
• Unexpected Character: In issue #8, after being absent for several decades and not being seen since the silver age, and despite having basically no relation to the Green Lantern mythos whatsoever, guess who makes his return after all this time? Xeen Arrow, an obscure supporting character from the Green Arrow franchise whose number of appearances can be counted on one hand!
