- Sure you're gonna kill off Apollus halfway through the story for no reason.
- Love to Hate:
- Epigonus is a delightfully loathsome villain.
- The Scythians are intimidating, murderous, and mysterious. The narrative's refusal to explain their motivations, attitudes, or backstories just makes them cooler.
- Trapped by Mountain Lions:
- The sudden extension of the Israel plot may seem like this, but it's generally seen as a good conclusion to the series that brings everything full-circle (until later).
