Alternate Character Interpretation: Why did Megan kill her father — was she unable to control her monstrous impulses post-resurrection, or was she taking revenge at him for murdering her mother? Another possible reason is that Megan was dead a long time, so the resurrection process simply didn't work right, she looks sickly and rotten, and, it's noted it usually takes about a year for someone to "pop", but she mutates, at best, a few days after being brought back, whereas Timmy looks normal, and only has a potential "pop" a year later.
Common Knowledge: The game is set on a peninsula, not an island as widely believed.
Why build furniture out of wood, when you can build it out of dead cannibals' bones instead?
Slashing a dead passenger's corpse in the caves will often cause cash to fall from their pockets.
Some of the cannibals' effigies can be darkly hilarious — for instance, a dead tennis player with dozens of tennis balls packed into his abdomen, and an overweight passenger who was crucified in his tighty-whities.
Many players have discovered that for some reason, holding a cannibal's foot or arm and walking over small trees breaks them perfectly into logs for you. Don't question how that works.
Pewdiepie discovered that sometimes a glitch causes cannibals who are frozen in place to explode if touched.
JackSepticEye found a similar glitch on accident, back when chopping a dead body resulted in the pieces flying everywhere, rather than having to chop off individual parts like the game has now. He chopped at a body, it exploded, and he was launched into space, as the video's title so aptly puts it. Probably the funniest part was he expected to die when he landed, but (unbeknownst to him) his armor saved him, resulting in him only losing some of his armor and his character grunting upon landing.
Moral Event Horizon: Shooting down an airliner so you can find a child to feed to the Artifact of Doom is pretty damn cruel, even if it's for the sake of bringing your own dead child back to life.
Nightmare Fuel: Being a Survival Horror this is to be expected but of note are the Creepy Mutants, Humanoid Abominations that are cannibals fused together, one being two females being fused back to back and walking with their arms and legs or the other being a fusion of three different bodies, with most of its limbs flailing about like octopus tentacles. Another Creepy Mutant is a straight-up Eldritch Abomination made up of several tiny, fleshy slug-like creatures that can split up and attack you... and the collective can fly. Oh, and there is an entire cave full of mutated babies, which also leap out to attack you.
