YMMV / The Flintstones: Stone Age SmackDown!

Go To

  • Broken Base: Even though The Flintstones had several celebrity guest stars, The Flintstones fans waiting since 2001 for a new project found it disappointing that they'd return only to promote wrestling, and WWE fans found it perplexing that Superstars would agree to participate in an offshoot of what they saw as an old children's show. There are of course people willing to give it a chance and happy to see any new Flintstones material that isn't commercials or a Family Guy Cutaway Gag.
  • Memetic Mutation: GRAND CENAnote
  • Older Than They Think:
    • A lot of people don't realize that that's how Barney's voice sounded way back at the beginning of the original series.
    • There's also some attempts to assert "Flintstones in wrestling don't mix", never minding the original series episode where Fred and Barney take Pebbles to a wrestling match. Let alone all "the fights" on TV.
    • Also the updating of technology, which was something The Flintstones did regularly did in spin-offs in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Updating it for 2010s tech in this movie was far from anything new.
    • John Cena also appeared on the Fruity Pebbles boxes for a while.
  • One-Scene Wonder: Daniel Bryan's only scene in the movie, where he gets into a Duck Season, Rabbit Season scenario with John Cena.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Daniel Bryan only appears in one scene in the movie. Doesn't everyone wish that he fought The Undertaker as promoted on the cover?
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: It's essentially a WWE Crossover with The Flintstones and neither The Rock nor his father, WWE Hall of Famer "Soul Man" Rocky Johnson, are involved in any waynote .
  • Woolseyism: All characters speak in rhymes (or at least try to) in the Hungarian dub, a tradition of Flintstones dubs dating back to the early '70s. Though probably due to the more rushed production, it comes off as forced compared to the lavish dubbing work of the old series.
