YMMV / The Flash (2014) S3E7 "Killer Frost"

Go To

  • Catharsis Factor:
    • Catlin's What the Hell, Hero? speech to Barry echoes many fan complaints about his increasing Designated Hero status and his It's All About Me attitude.
    • On the same note, Julian has a point (which even Barry concedes might have merit) that someone willing to bend the law so much probably shouldn't be a cop.
    • Similar to his return in the Rebirth comics, Wally West finally getting empowered can feel like this for Wally fans who'd been waiting since the series started for him to be introduced and get his speed, especially as the show decided to make it a very long wait.
  • Captain Obvious Reveal: People had been assuming Julian would be Alchemy ever since he first showed up, especially considering Tom Felton's common Typecasting as a villain ever since he played Draco Malfoy. Even his name is very similar to comics Doctor Alchemy's real name of Albert Desmond.
  • I Knew It!: Many people correctly guessed that Julian Albert was actually Dr. Alchemy. The fact that Tom Felton rarely plays a heroic person did not help give another opinion.
  • Like You Would Really Do It: Let's face it, did anybody think Caitlin would become Killer Frost permanently?
    • No one believes Barry won't get his job back by the end of the season.
  • Recycled Script: The drama over Barry's time traveling is essentially a repeat from what happened earlier in episode two; the difference is that the team now know what their lives were like before Flashpoint.
  • She Really Can Act: Some fans and critics were pleasantly surprised by Danielle Panabaker's performance as Killer Frost and how she manages to differentiate her not only from Caitlin but also from the version of the character that appeared in Season 2.
