- Awesome Music: “I Just Got This Symphony Goin’”. The screamed vocals work so well, and not to mention that awesome intro riff.
- It's even better live.
- Lots of it, really. Phantom on the Horizon may be the band’s best album, but the first three albums have lots of great songs, too.
- Broken Base: Fans weren’t too fond of the simpler sound of In the Unlikely Event. Manipulator also got this, but to a lesser extent.
- Nightmare Fuel: The second track of Phantom on the Horizon (see I'm a Humanitarian)
- “Macaulay McCulkin”, a Stalker with a Crush song that gets worse and worse as it goes, eventually ending in “I’ll be waiting on the side of your house with an empty bodybag and a loaded .45”
- They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: In the Unlikely Event and to a lesser extent Manipulator received complaints for being less complex than the band’s previous material.
