• Anti-Climax Boss: When McCall is Storming the Castle, he kills Vincent's men one by one stealthily, no fighting. And after killing all of Vincent's men, McCall knocks Vincent out very easily before forcing him to overdose on his own drug, watching him die a slow death as he feebly attempts to escape from McCall.
• Spiritual Successor: Antoine Fuqua considers this movie to be an unofficial sequel to Man on Fire (2004). It also helps that Dakota Fanning is Denzel's co-star in this movie as well, but all grown up.
