YMMV / The Ducksters

  • Genius Bonus: When asked for Cleopatra's aunt's maiden name, Porky asks whether this is about her maternal or paternal aunt, to which Daffy replies, "Watch your language, bud, we're on the air!" Cleopatra's parents were actually brother and sister, meaning her maternal and paternal aunts were the same people, a topic that would obviously be taboo in game shows (and, for that matter, animated shorts) of the era.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: At one point, Daffy tries to trip Porky up by asking him the name of a referee in an obscure boxing match, but Porky manages to get it right. This is eerily prescient of Dr. Joyce Brothers' appearance on The $64,000 Question in 1955, where she managed to win the top prize on boxing trivia.
  • Unintentional Period Piece:
    • The most glaring sign of this cartoon's time (1950) is when Daffy inflicts on Porky that he name "all 48 states". Alaska and Hawaii only officially become states in 1959.
    • Another aspect is Daffy's quiz show being broadcast on radio. Radio quiz shows would fall out of favor by the end of the 1950s.
