- Creepy Awesome: Lily, the Cute Mute little girl rescued by Tenzin, is extremely perceptive, a witness to all sorts of horrors, and draws what she's seen quite impressively (and disturbingly)
- Nightmare Fuel: The battlefield is already pretty brutal, but it doesn't begin to compare with Tenzin's bloody, surreal dreams while he's in a coma after nearly getting killed in an ambush.
- The Woobie: As expected of a protagonist in a post-apocalyptic world, Tenzin fits multiple Woobie categories.
- Stoic Woobie: Still going despite all he's lost, including but not limited to his family, his comrades, and as of Chapter 3's ending, most of his human body/
- Jerkass Woobie: Less so nowadays, but in his adolescence Tenzin was much more volatile and bloodthirsty, seeking revenge for the murder of his family no matter who got in his way.
