- Awesome Music: The electronic score by Michael Perilstein is a fun and catchy little romp, often reminiscent of Tangerine Dream, only cheekier. For a sample, here's the main theme, featuring possibly the nicest (synthesized) flute solo ever featured in a low-budget Gorn flick on a very intricate scale.
- Creepy Awesome: The toothy aliens are one of the better eighties B-movie creations.
- Nightmare Fuel: The titular alien just looks so ... wrong. Not only that, but one of the special features of the DVD reveals that it's actually a weapon, so, really, it feels no pain or remorse at all. How's that for terrifying trivia?
- The Scrappy: Pete is a jerkass who dismisses his friends' concerns over his insistence that aliens cannot possibly be real and ultimately manages to get his love interest killed through his poorly thought-out plan to reach a telephone. He would have been eaten himself were it not for his friends refusing to let him exit the attic.
- Special Effects Failure: Ellen's decapitated body is a very obvious dummy.
- Visual Effects of Awesome: Despite the film's very low budget, the alien and gore effects are top notch.
