  • Gillie's attempt at building a coffin goes over rather unfavorably with Waldo: "I wouldn't be caught dead in that thing!"
  • Anytime Amaryllis sings, but the crowing moment would be at Black's funeral where she holds the last high note for an ungodly long time, causing the cat to plug his ears, the flowers in the room to wilt and their vases shatter. When she's cut short by Waldo slamming the organ lid shut, one mourner remarks "If Mr. Black wasn't already dead, that last note would have killed him".
  • Joe E. Brown may very well have been cast in this film for that one scene where he screams in horror after Black wakes up in the crypt, as he had a rather large mouth. the clip is reused in the ending credits.
  • Trumbull's declaration that there is "no morality left in this world" after he's been scammed by the very woman he was trying to scam.
