- Life Imitates Art: Part of what makes the show Vindicated by History is that it predicted the rise of a new Sub-Genre of reality shows—the has-been celebrity seeking a comeback and letting a camera crew film him/her with wackiness ensuing.
- Unintentionally Sympathetic: Valerie. Quite possibly the show's downfall. Despite being depicted as a clueless neurotic who annoys the crews of both shows, many felt that Valerie didn't deserve the humiliation she was subjected to throughout the series.
- Values Resonance: Valerie's back brace injury is highly reminiscent of Uma Thurman's injury that left her unable to perform in Hollywood for a period of time, as is the general pressure of being an older actress in Hollywood.
- Vindicated by History: The show received lukewarm reviews when it initially aired and was cancelled after one season. It has since then attained a cult following, has been recognised as one of the best shows of the 2000's, and is considered to have been ahead of its time.
