• Alternative Character Interpretation:
  • Was Edward’s mother just as abusive as his father or was she a victim of Domestic Abuse and lashing out? While Jackie is seen and proven to be as horrible as Edward claimed, his mother is never shown. And since he’s shown to be sexist and hitting on a nurse, Jackie wasn’t likely to be a good husband.
• Jerkass Woobie:
  • Edward is a villian who has killed people, considers himself to be superior and has an ego the size of a mountain. But he was also severely abused by his father, his mother blamed him for the abuse, he gets captured and tortured three times, he can’t see his beloved sister or her children due to his life choices and spent twenty years believing that she hated him, and has a fear of forgetting everything.
