YMMV / The Clone Wars: Secret Missions

Go To

  • Ensemble Dark Horse: See here.
  • Fanfic Fuel: Given how the author was toying with the idea of having Nuru end up becoming Big Gizz's biker sidekick Spiker (a Chiss with a Mysterious Past) before the Continuity Reboot, it's interesting to imagine how he would have reached that transition, or, if Nuru isn't Spiker, how Gizz's friendship with him may have began or been shaped by his friendship with Nuru.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: In Legends, Force-sensitive Chiss were a rarity. This is also true in new canon, but now with the added explanation that for whatever reason, most Force-sensitive Chiss are young girls and that their connection to the Force wears out when they get older, which would put Nuru's status as a Force-sensitive Chiss with Jedi training in an even more interesting light...
  • Periphery Demographic: The series is written for kids (as are the subsequent comics featuring Breakout Squad), but, due to the interesting writing and characters, has more unapologetic adult fans than most of the other Star Wars middle-grade and YA works.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: A lot is made about Nuru's status as a rare Chiss (let alone a Chiss Jedi) in Republic Space, but neither the Chiss nor the Republic characters say anything about how Dooku has recruited some Chiss experts (Dark Jedi and Supreme Commander of the Droid armies Sev'rance Tann and her Bounty Hunter lover Vandalor from Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds), or there are other Chiss Jedi (a Pragmatic Hero temporary Jedi Council member from Star Wars General Grievous might be a Chiss and the melodramatic Antaria Wellos and an unnamed male Chiss who looks far less pale than Nuru both appear as Order 66 survivors in Star Wars: Galaxies and its tie-in media).
  • Unexpected Character: Of all the previously established characters who could show up, it's doubtful anyone expected Badass Biker Big Gizz (from a handful of Rebellion-era comics) to be one of them.
