• Ensemble Dark Horse: Consistent with most of the character's appearances in media, the Cheshire Cat tends to be the most liked thing about this movie (if not the only good thing).
• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • The Princess of Hearts. Let that sink in.
  • This "Adventure in Wonderland" involving a real life girl named Alice going into Wonderland. A few years later, a series would use this premise.
  • This movie featured a Jafar Expy evil wizard as the Big Bad, who tried to abduct Alice and had Tweedledee and Tweedledum working for him. Years later, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland was made.
• Nightmare Fuel: This notorious frame.◊ It comes nearly out of nowhere and disappears as soon as it appears, yet any kid who saw as much likely won’t be forgetting it anytime soon.
• Quirky Work: It's an adaptation of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland so this is pretty much par for the course.
• Sequelitis: There is a reason this was the last Care Bears movie to see a theatrical release, and that it has never been released on DVD. From the more conventional cartoon villain — complete with two hapless, moronic minions — to the Cheshire Cat's rapping — as opposed to the Award Bait Songs of the previous films, this installment deviated from the more successful formula of the first two movies and had the feel of an extended Saturday-Morning Cartoon from the late '80s with the Care Bears shoehorned in.
• Suspiciously Similar Song: The Nostalgia Critic has pointed out that the Wizard's song sounds a lot like the Galaxy Song.
• Wangst: Many reviewers have criticised Alice's character desiring to be special as needy and attention-seeking. While not uncommon for children lacking talent or privilege to experience such feelings, her middle-class background and good looks make it hard for the general audience to sympathize with her apparent "plight".
