• Ensemble Dark Horse: Mike Nolan was initially a one-off character, however the creators brought him back after his first appearance proved to be incredibly popular with the show's fanbase. Mike Nolan grew to be so popular, that he eventually became the focus of the prequel miniseries, The Mike Nolan Show and sequel miniseries, ‘’Mike Nolan’s Long Weekend.’’
• Funny Moments:
  • Basically any time Lez screams.
  • The conversation Lez has with Mike in which Mike reveals that he never exhales the smoke after smoking a cigarette. Lez can't even begin to understand how that works and how unhealthy that must be.
• Growing the Beard: While already quite impressive for a show that was entirely animated by a bored kid on a shitty school laptop touchpad, The Big Lez Show steadily improved until Season 3 saw a massive leap in art and animation quality - it is popularly viewed as the definitive season that fully solidified the characters and offbeat, drug-centred, "laddish" brand of humour. Season 4 improved even more on all fronts, to the point where it's hard to believe that the whole thing is still made on Microsoft Paint.
• Memetic Mutation: Most of the main cast's voices and catchphrases are quotable as hell, so there's almost too many to list. Face it, if you watch the show, you've unwittingly imitated at least one of them to your friends.
  • Clarence's supreme Butt-Monkey status makes him a prime ironic meme target.
• Periphery Demographic:
  • The series has huge international followings, particularly in the UK, despite being deeply rooted in Australian humour and culture, much to the pleasant surprise of the creator Jarrad Wright. Case in point, the limited cinema screenings of Choomah Island 3 throughout the UK were sold out and packed.
  • The more serious, introspective edge brought in Choomah Island 2 helped to boost the show's popularity among philosophical stoners and would-be drug experimenters.
• Signature Scene:
  • The reveal that Lez and Norton are both brothers and exiled alien princes from Kingdom Cum at the end of Season 1.
  • Probably the most famous sketch in the whole show: Lez arguing with Sassy about the correct pronunciation of popcorn in a cinema and then going on a hilarious/terrifying "heroween cookie" trip in the Season 3 episode "Popcoin".
  • The sombre, mind-expanding trip sequence in Choomah Island 2 which was inspired by the creator's own traumatic LSD experiences.
  • From The Mike Nolan Show, Nolsie verbally thrashing a DUI-inspecting cop in "FTC".
• Tough Act to Follow: It was always going to be a hard task to have Choomah Island 3 top Choomah Island 2, especially since the latter took nine gruelling months to produce. Fortunately, 3 was just as acclaimed as 2, if not more so due to the emotional impact of Lez's death.
• Viewer Gender Confusion: Some people were confused as to what gender Norton was at the start of the series. Towards the end of Season 1 it's revealed that he's actually Lez's brother, from the planet Kingdom Cum.
