YMMV / The Big Heat (1988)

• Complete Monster: Ching Han is a ruthless drug smuggler who introduces himself burning alive a Dirty Cop who tried blackmailing him. When said cop's friends investigate the murder and catch Han's partner, Han has his men invade and shoot up a hospital to kill said partner, who Han was also blackmailing with photos of him having a homosexual affair. He has the hero Wong's girlfriend murdered and leaves a bomb by her corpse to kill the police. Later torturing one of the cops, Han sets a trap to kill his friends as well, planning to continue his business no matter who he has to kill.
• Crosses the Line Twice: Yes, this is an action movie where civilians tends to die in the crossfire of shootouts, but... a little girl with polio on a wheelchair?
• Nausea Fuel: The demise of the Big Bad ( having his own shotgun, loaded with shells, blowing up while in his own hands and blasting a dozen rounds back into himself from point-blank range) should be unnerving to any audience who had tropophobia.
• Retroactive Recognition: Robin Shou as one of the assassins in the hospital shootout.
• The Woobie: What's even more depressing than a child with polio? One who gets shot while in a wheelchair, that's what!
