- Hilarious in Hindsight: Just three years later, the infamous NBC series Supertrain would play the idea of a nuclear-powered ground vehicle (in this case a train) on a cross-country trip across the US completely straight.
- Retroactive Recognition: Stockard Channing plays romantic interest Kitty Baxter two years before getting her big break in Grease.
- So OK, It's Average: The film has some excellent visual gags and verbal comedy, but it's also riddled with nonsensical plot holes and has a tendency to drag out and overplay jokes that would have worked fine as a one-liner. It doesn't help that it would get completely blown out of the water by Airplane! four years later in terms of spoofing the Disaster Movie genre, essentially making it a Poor Man's Substitute for that film.
