Audience-Alienating Premise: The main reason why the English version flopped horribly and probably why it's fairly obscure in Japan. Modern audiences find Cure Your Gays stories verySquicky and people who do want to read them probably don't read manga in the first place.
Broken Base: The last few chapters are seen as either genuinely heartwarming or a cheap fix.
Ensemble Dark Horse: Kei's dad, for seemingly being the only one who calls out his wife for her vile behavior after finally having enough of what she's doing to her daughter.
The Scrappy: Kei's mother's obsessive desire for grandchildren, and the lengths she would go for it, resulted in her being widely hated, even by fans of the series.
Unintentionally Sympathetic: Girls were using Kei as a practice boyfriend and then coldly dumping her in the beginning of the story. This is treated as completely her fault and something she totally deserved.
Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Kei's mother is responsible for sending her daughter to an all-boys school in an attempt to cure her of her homosexuality. It's done purely so that she can have grandkids, and she shows no regard to Kei's desires, but the story seems to consider her as being in the right.
Values Dissonance: The Cure Your Gays angle that the story took was unwelcome already in Japan, but very badly seen by Anglophone audiences. This is the reason why the English translation was dropped.
