- Anti-Climax Boss: For how much of a threat The Beast is shown to be and how many characters he ends up slaughtering, the Combiner's death is incredibly quick and anti-climactic. Optimus Prime lures him to a cliff, they both fall off, Jetfire catches Optimus, and The Beast keeps falling and smashes apart immediately on impact.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: Several people have noticed that with his long pointy head and nose, spectacle-like eyes and enormous, mirthless smile, The Beast's face◊ bears an amusing resemblance to Spamton G. Spamton.
- Nightmare Fuel:
- As poorly executed as The Beast is often viewed as being, it's actually terrifying. Its appearance is twisted and just plain wrong, combining by forcibly melting and fusing the Dinobots together into one creature against their will. Its mind is consumed an unrelenting desire to kill literally everything regardless of allegiance and has the power to do exactly that, effortlessly tearing the Decepticon Combiners to shreds before turning on the Autobots. What's more, it's implied at one point to be fully aware of its actions... yet can't help but enjoy them.
- The shot of the Dinobots' faces◊ inside The Beast, torn and melted and fused to each other, and stuck in expressions of permanent agony. Even worse, it's implied that they're all still conscious and aware of what's happened to them in this form, but are absolutely helpless to do anything except scream.
- The eventual fate of the universe of the comic, as provided by Ask Vector Prime. Unicron showed up sometime later, and due to The Beast's rampage and massive body count, the Autobots and Decepticons were barely able to fend off the Planet-Eater, even together. Unicron dealt a fatal blow to Primus before being driven back; and as such, the universe's reality unravelled completely, and what remained was devoured by the Hytherion.
- Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: One major criticism of the comic is that it's just two issues of characters on all sides dying horribly and without much — if any — fanfare, capped off with it abruptly ending on an incredibly bleak note. By that point, most of both the Autobots and Decepticons are dead, Optimus Prime and Jetfire are last being seen sadly musing over the twisted, smoking wreck of the Mechanical Abomination that was once their allies... and then, according to Ask Vector Prime, everything well and truly ended with their universe's reality unravelling and being consumed by the Hytherion after their Primus was slain by Unicron.
