• Alternative Character Interpretation: in most fanon, Blueblood is portrayed as varying levels of evil. In this, Blueblood is not only on the Equestrian Resistance's side, he's the leader of a "government in exile"
  • We later learn that Lightning Dust was part of Ditzy Doo's "Grey Squadron", so she's presumably also less selfish than fanon suggests.
    • Really, both of these are more a case of Adaptation Expansion.
• Draco in Leather Pants: Arguable in the case of Blueblood and Lightning Dust, as neither of them are straight up "evil": they do, however, get far more positive characterisations in this story, as opposed to the usual fanon that portrays them as anything from irredeemable jerks to straight up pure evil.
• Fridge Horror: Oh hell... let's start with the fact that out of several billion humans, five billion converted, fourteen million are alive. The rest are dead. That's insane. Not bad enough? Let's then consider that there were over a hundred million people in Britain when the war started: in six years, most of those people were killed. That's more than WWII. Still not bad enough? Ok then, so let's consider the question of how many cultures must have been utterly obliterated by the combination of the Barrier and the war.
  • in Golden Lock's Fight, it's implied that any pony who falls gets trampled by their comrades.
• Heartwarming Moments: Pinkie's speech about why she wants to go to the TCB world to help Elliot in Chapter Nine.
• Moment of Awesome: Elliot killing Rarity.
