- Harsher in Hindsight: One of the flashbacks in season 1 to life before the Ark shows that by the time the Arks left, the North American continent was covered in wildfires that were visible from space. Shortly after the season aired, Canada became beset by fierce wildfires, causing massive environmental damage and spreading smoke as far away as Europe.
