- Replacement Scrappy: Yuka has been seen as a poor replacement of Yu Narukami due to her Genki Girl personality, which can come across as annoying to some readers.
- Tear Jerker: Ramps it up even more than the original by adding way more tragic overtones to Makoto's backstory and the story in general.
- Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: Can very well incite this in readers. The author keeps on pushing the Darker and Edgier button constantly and the sheer amount of suffering the characters get put through can either come off as patently hilarious or obligatory. It actually has had readers leave the fic due to how utterly dark it can get, a major sticking point for some readers being Yuka being rendered comatose.
