- Award Snub: Alicia Vikander, Taron Egerton, and director James Kent were nominated for a handful of awards, but all lost, except for one AWFJ award for Vikander.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: Taron Egerton apparently thought that Alicia Vikander (who plays his sister in the film) was flirting with him on set, and he liked the idea, until he realised she just wanted to build familial rapport for their characters. They would eventually star as lovers five years later, as Rian and Mira in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.
- Retroactive Recognition: Alicia Vikander portraying a protagonist in a film before her breakthrough, Academy Award-winning role and mainstream Tomb Raider venture, and Taron Egerton in a supporting role before the highly successful Kingsman: The Secret Service, in which he plays the lead, premiered. Conversely, Kit Harington (Game of Thrones) and Colin Morgan (Merlin) were already quite well-known at the time.
