YMMV / Terri Runnels

Go To

  • Awesome Moments: In a match against Molly Holly in 2002, Terri pulled out a really nice Frankensteiner that almost got her the win!
  • Best Known for the Fanservice: Well, she was there as a Ms. Fanservice character, so it's understandable that's what she's remembered for. But she doesn't seem to mind too much.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Manager, commentator, interviewer...she seemed to fit into just about any role WWE gave her.
  • Estrogen Brigade: While a Ms. Fanservice character there to appeal to male viewers, Terri has quite a collection of female fans in an Even the Girls Want Her sort of way.
  • Funny Moments: She could be very funny when given the chance. A sampling.
    • From the December 29, 2001 episode of WWF Excess, the weekend recap show she co-hosted with Jonathan Coachman, asking Big Show about his parodies of different wrestlers.
      Terri: Do you do Goldust?
Big Show: No, I don't do Goldust.
      Terri: Neither do I, anymore.
    • In the mic battle on Raw which set up her Catfight match against the Kat for WrestleMania 2000, she said that it would be "Whore-ible" if the Kat didn't get to be at WrestleMania since it is "the best opportunity for exposure, and if it's exposure you want honey, then exposure you will get." She then ripped open the Kat's shirt, revealing her bra.
    • Her description of Goldust drunkenly singing to her on the infamous Plane Ride from Hell.
"If it wasn't for that and the fact that the whole plane had finally settled down to a "cross the pond nap" when he belted out David Alan Coe's "Forever My Darlin'" at a decibel that would have been offensive even if everyone was wide awake, I would have loved it..."
    • Her Reddit AMA had a fan asking her opinion on women wrestlers who sell their worn underwear on the internet.
"To each his own Baby...but WORN...nah!
    • The same AMA had another fan thanking her for "getting [him] through puberty". Her response?
"So happy to "be there" for you!"
  • Guilty Pleasures: Her feud with the Kat. No, it wasn't going to produce anything resembling "good" matches, but that's OK, because that wasn't its role. Pure T&A silliness, but it served its purpose all the same.
  • Les Yay: In 1996, with Goldust's orientation still unconfirmed, WWE seemed to be subtly suggesting the possibility of Marlena being interested in Sable, but it never went anywhere.
  • LGBT Fanbase: The Marlena character in particular is quite popular with gay men.
  • Nightmare Fuel: She was victim of a rather nasty sneak attack from Molly Holly and Gail Kim in 2003 where they blindsided her and forcibly stripped her - making it look rather like a gang rape.
