  • Awesome Music: "Kasai", the main theme, which is both stirring and peaceful, giving the vibe of outer space.
  • Bizarro Episode: The TRAPPIST-1 campaign, where you happen to come across an abandoned spaceship of Sufficiently Advanced Aliens holding fantastical-like artifacts influenced by alien mythology.
  • Complacent Gaming Syndrome: The faction Horizon Corporation is often chosen as their goal is lots and lots of money, which you'll also be needing when terraforming your world, thus they provide credit boosts.
  • Funny Moments:
    • Red's Deadpan Snarker moment at the start of the Historical Earths campaign:
You've been so preoccupied with asking if you would be paid, you didn't consider if you SHOULD be paid. Haha!
I mean, looking at your playlog, you've been doing this for quite some time without payment.
      Why ruin a perfect streak?!
      …?
Alright, my sense of humor doesn't work on you. Got it.
    • After that, Red asks the player a name to call them (for security reasons that led to the conversation about being paid). There are three choices: Flamingo, Spacey Mcspaceface, and Geraldine. Red finds the first two too weird and refuses possible "personal information" for the third. Then he settles for the simple pseudonym of X.
  • Memetic Mutation: Jokes about forgetting to pause a game and letting the world go Off the Rails are common in the community.
  • Nightmare Fuel: In the Lethe scenario, it's revealed the reason all the humans were wiped out on that planet was due to the Lethe Plague, which attacks the brain and wipes out all the infectee's memories. It will strike again if you don't find a cure soon. Now think about that.
  • Scrappy Mechanic:
    • "Earth"quakes. While some are harmless, some will be strong enough to deal damage to your facilities, such as lowering many levels of them, or worse, destroy level I facilities entirely. Protecting facilities against quakes require leveling up and then setting the output level to lowest, which can cost lots of money and time. Dangerous quakes become very common in Expert mode.
    • The lack of a population cap is an ire to some, considering everyone can die when they've eaten up more biomass than produced, especially on Beginner and Expert modes where you cannot build a Sky Farm to compensate for biomass without human consumption.
  • Tear Jerker:
  • That One Level: Earth is the hardest of the free levels. First you are faced with severe climate change, which needs immediate cooling and no time to wait. Then you have to aggressively deal with drastically plummeting biomass. Managing those poorly (which is easy to do) will likely result in Earth flooding all over or everyone dying from eating up the biomass.
