  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Was One actually trying to win the proposed chess match between her and Sougo? Even with the Switching P.O.V. to her inner thoughts during the whole situation, it was made unclear if One truly was giving it her all as she seemed more focused on giving her opponent one Armor-Piercing Question after another rather than actually getting checkmate. Word of God himself states that even with having a certain intent with his writing, he kept it vague enough to have the reader second-guess what One's true goal was in even issuing the challenge in the first place.
  • Awesome Ego: Sougo from the year 2068 is clearly just as much as a megalomaniac on Midgard as he was back him his canon world and timeline, acting outright ENTITLED in his conquest of the new world he entered. Doesn't make him any less of a badass as a result.
  • Cry for the Devil: Three may be a loathsome Psychopathic Manchild who happily crossed all sorts of lines when she tortured and experimented on her own citizens and turned them all into living dolls, but the whole scene during her torture session where she is forced to experience and acknowledge what she's done leaves her a completely horrified and crying mess. Her Heel Realization moment really solidifies this.
    Three: I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I was wrong. I'm sorry… Please…help…me…
  • Evil Is Cool: 2068!Sougo Tokiwa/Oma Zi-O as always. He's an efficient, deadly, and even philosophical force to be reckoned with as he deals with the various obstacles Midgard's infamously Crapsack World has to throw at him as he strives for total world domination.
  • Jerkass Woobie:
    • Zero, in a nutshell. She's a violent, cold-hearted shrew at her best and a borderline sociopath at her very worst. However, the reason why she acts like this is due to the years of the Trauma Conga Line her Dark and Troubled Past shaped her into the person she is now. The reason Zero's close to becoming an Yandere towards Sougo at times? He's the best thing that's ever happened to her in her entire life and is genuinely terrified that he'll be taken away from her like every other good thing that's happened to her in the past.
    • Four may be a self-righteous Knight Templar who committed genocide out of Fantastic Racism, it is clear this comes from an severe Inferiority Superiority Complex she has towards her sisters and cannot help but feel that she falls short in comparison towards them in almost every way, not knowing how to properly deal with this self-loathing besides taking it out on others. It isn't until she met Sougo that she's actually learning to like the person she is and have any true self-worth.
  • The Woobie: Two, as with canon, proves to be the most sympathetic of her sisters. After crossing the Despair Event Horizon and becoming Empty Shell thanks to being forced to kill the orphans she took in due to them being warped into monsters from the effects of her Song, she finds herself brought back to sanity by Sougo and her children being miraculously brought back to life... only for said overlord to cruelly hang their lives over her head, making it clear that he'll only hand over back, if Two completely devotes her life to him and him alone, meaning she has to end things with her One True Love, and with no other way to undo her her worst mistake, she takes it before giving a heartbreaking goodbye to her love.
