YMMV / Telepath RPG: Servants of God

Go To

  • Awesome Music: See for yourself. Of note:
  • Fridge Logic: The Fury and Stimulate skills apparently work by manipulating the target's brain chemistry. How do they work on Luca and Rajav, then, if they have no physical brains?
    • Fridge Horror: This also means that the skills work very similar to drugs such as stimulants and narcotics. One wonders at what the long-term side-effects of using them would be...
  • Funny Moments: Rajav's interactions with Luca.
Rajav: Luca! Your eyes are captivating.
    Luca: My eyes?
Rajav: Yes, captivating! When you look at me, I am held captive. You imprison me with your looks.
Luca: You are mixing your metaphors.
Rajav: Yes, yes! Come away with me, and we will mix our metaphors together until the rising of the sun.
Luca: I have forgotten much of my former life, but I am fairly certain that that is the worst come-on I have ever heard.
    • And if you recruited Malis:
      Malis: You. Deathling.
      Rajav: Hm? Yes?
Malis: You do realize that you have no body, don't you?
Rajav: Yes, of course, though it is a bit impolite of you to mention it.
Malis: Yet here you are, attempting to mate with the other ghostling like a simple animal. Even if she welcomed your advances, your attempts at copulation would fail. Are you so bound to your fleshling instincts that you don't see this?
Rajav: Old habits are slow to die. But beauty...she is eternal.
Malis (primping her smoke plume): Yes, I...see your point.
    • Unfortunately, those interactions turn into Nightmare Fuel if Luca has become Luca'ra'il.
  • Moment of Awesome: Duvalier trumping Cygnus in a religious debate so thoroughly that he breaks down in tears and surrenders immediately.
  • Salvaged Gameplay Mechanic: Several gameplay elements from the previous game are improved in this one:
    • Putting your cursor on a skill icon without clicking highlights the tiles affected by the skill. In the previous game, you had to rely on a text-based description, which could be a bit cryptic for area-of-effect attacks.
    • The previous game forced you to play your characters in the order of their roster slots, and the hero was locked into the 4th slot. Servants of God allows you to play your characters in any order you want by clicking on them during battles and the hero can be put in any slot, giving more control over your party's movement during battle.
    • Using an elemental shield on a character that already has an elemental resistance will replace the previous resistance for the battle. In the previous game, characters with a passive elemental resistance aren't affected by Grotius's Frost Shield, making this skill useless for most of the party.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • Luca discovering that Fizooz no longer remembers her.
    • To a degree, discovering that Luca's personality has been inverted, and that it's your fault.
Duvalier: I miss the old Luca.
Luca'ra'il: What a strange thing to say.
