• Memetic Mutation:
  • Secco's "I don't give a fuck. Let's go for some ice cream" (A me non me ne frega un cazzo. Annamo a pija' un gelato?) became quickly popular on the Italian web sphere, even combined with other characters and franchises.
  • Similarly, Zero's "La domanda mi devasta" ("The question is destroying me"), when Sarah faces him with a question he can't answer.
  • With those unfamiliar with Zerocalcare's previous work, especially outside Italy: comparing Zero's avatar with Sid Phillips from Toy Story or Richard Nixon from Futurama.
• Tear Jerker: Alice kills herself, unable to cope with the pressures of adult life. The final episode of the series is her funeral, spiralling Zero into full depression over his inability to tell her how he felt before it was too late. Her parents and friends, though trying to keep it together, are also on the verge of tears.
