• Ass Pull: The solutions to each of the mysteries feel like they come out of nowhere; the criminal is never one of the proposed suspects, and what clues there are as to their identity aren't given any focus.
• Protection from Editors: Many of the novels include obvious spelling errors- up to and including character names- as well as formatting errors. A common one is misplaced quotation marks: one that isn't where it should be or there isn't one where it should.
