- Fetish Retardant: Michael's Brain in a Jar sparking wildly as a substitute for an orgasm while watching Tammy's striptease.
- Moral Event Horizon: After abducting Michael from Tammy's house, Billy leaves him to be mauled by lions at an animal park.
- Retroactive Recognition:
- Poppy Montgomery from Without a Trace appears as an extra at the party.
- Efren Ramirez (the pizza boy) and Ellen Dubin (Helga) would later have roles in Napoleon Dynamite.
- Special Effects Failure: While the T-Rex is also confirmed to be a robot In-Universe, everything else involving it, such as the clearly not attached sock arms with opposable thumbs, certainly qualifies.
- The various death scenes during Michael's rampage make use of very obvious mannequins.
- When the T-Rex snaps up Billy, there is an obvious wire attached to a harness worn by Billy.
- Took the Bad Film Seriously: When James A. Janisse did his critique of the film, he noted the younger actors, namely Denise Richards (Tammy), Paul Walker (Michael), and George Pilgram (Billy) played their parts completely straight despite the ridiculous tone of the film.
- What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?: The film was intended be rated R and have loads of gore, cursing and sex jokes, but the producer who lent the director the animatronic T-rex got antsy, and forced the film to be toned down to appeal to families. Given what was left in, it shows.
- What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: Despite the above, the uncut version released by Vinegar Syndrome is absolutely not for children.
