YMMV / Talkin' Toons with Rob Paulsen

Go To

  • Awesome Moments: Every time Rob and the guest do cold reads of scenes from movies as their characters, showing off just why they're considered the best at what they do.
  • Awesome Music:
    • Randy Rogel's piano rendition of "People Wanted Pepper on Their Food" from Histeria!.
    • The intro theme, which starts off with the catchy and awesome theme song from The Mask, followed by the first minute or so of Rob's demo reel, which manages to be an ear worm despite not even being music—no wonder it gets him the jobs.
    • The Tony Weiner song.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: The humor does sometimes go this way, notably when Rob, Nolan North and Sean Astin all start pretending to be Minnie and Mickey Mouse having sex.
    • Jim Cummings does an impression of Mike Tyson casually talking about picking up (read: to rape) a woman pleading for her life that he dismisses as "teasing". Ironically, that's still the sanitized version as one of Cummings' kids was in earshot.
  • Heartwarming Moments: Every episode signs off with Rob saying "Laughter is the best medicine, and the best part is you can never OD and the refills are free."
  • Memetic Mutation: Mr. Krabs and Carl Wheezer Share an M&M
  • Sweet Dreams Fuel: The entire show is veteran performers who genuinely love and respect one another getting together to make each other laugh and gush about how grateful they are to have the careers that they have, with nary a drop of cynicism between any of them.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • Frank Welker has never appeared on the show because he doesn't think anyone would be interested in what he has to say, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary and his circa-2015-present convention appearances.
    • When Wayne Allwine was nearing the end of his life, he expressed a desire for Rob to take over the role of Mickey Mouse after his death. Though overwhelmingly honored, Rob rejected the idea.
