  • What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?: As per usual with Robin Jarvis novels, which are generally filled with violence and horror. However, the first book (set mostly in World War II London) takes it up to eleven with content that could easily be too much for even some adults: a dog is savagely beaten to the point of death by cruel kids for being a German breed (before being put out of its misery by having its head smashed with a rock), an evil entity takes the form of the disfigured corpse of a young man killed in World War II to torment the latter's grieving father, and a Nazi spy murders a little boy who discovers her secret and paints Hitler's moustache on the body to mock him. Yes, all this is in a book targeted at children.
