  • Fanon Welding: In the Swamps of Dagobah story, once the horrible smell kicks in, the poster scrambles for the hospital's bottle of peppermint oil — which hospital staff put inside their masks to cover up bad smells — only to find it empty. In the Decomposing Fetus story, once the horrible smell kicks in, the poster of that story does the same, only the bottle she found was thankfully not empty, and her wording implies she used up what was left. This led to a bunch of comments on the latter video theorizing that the two events took place at the same hospital, and that's why the bottle was empty when the Swamps of Dagobah team needed it.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: One Reddit user had responded to the original post about the Evil Farming Game by theorizing that OP had simply just dreamt the game existing. This was mostly ignored at the time, with even Justin being skeptical in the first video on the topic. Flash forward a couple years later, it turned out OP actually did dream it while he fell asleep to Vargskelethor Joel discussing a theoretical game like it based off of a title like Body Harvest.
  • Memetic Mutation:
    • Comparing Justin to Steve Aoki is a recurring joke around people due to their similar appearance. Even Justin had to make it his bio to say "Not Steve Aoki".
    • Bringing up the Rainbow Dash Cum Jar to him is also a reoccurring meme.
    • X is fine, but can we talk about Rampart?
  • Squick:
    • Several videos in the series discuss subject matters that are beyond disgusting. Some of them, such as the Jolly Rancher story, 2Girls1Cup, UrinalPoop.org, and jenkem, do get published on YouTube. The Blowfly Girl story was so perverse that Whang was concerned about putting it on the site at all; in the end, he uploaded one video to YouTube which focused more on the person behind the story, and one to Storyfire where he actually read the story in question. Then there are the Storyfire-exclusive episodes, which include episodes on bestiality and other really squicky topics. Lampshaded in a TikTok Jusin made detailing his favorite videos.
    • The episode on Armin Meiwesnote  features video footage from animal slaughterhouses in the background of chatlogs between Meiwes and the man he eventually would skin and eat. Commenters on YouTube expressed queasiness over this combination, one going so far as to state that they would not be eating any meat for the next few days. As for the chat logs, they are narrated by BarelySociable, who manages to read most of the logs straight-faced but actually pauses for a moment toward the end as the men start discussing the really painful stuff.
    • Even though Justin made a video about The Jar Man note , the available footage was bad enough that he didn't show any visual footage from it, even on the Storyfire version of the video. That said, he did play audio of it while showing images of cats of all ages playing with each other.
