- Season 9 is starting out with a human Castiel and Sam serving as the vessel for an angel. If Ezekiel starts working with Lucifer and the Croatoan virus reappeared, we could end up with a 2014 very similar to that seen in "The End" (S05, Ep04). Lucifer's declaration that "Whatever you do, you will always end up here" could end up being true.
