• Fair for Its Day: "I Am Curious (Black)" has faced many criticisms for having a white woman change in and out of being black, but when it was released it was actually seen as doing a good job of combating racism and showing what it's like to live as a minority.
• Pietà Plagiarism: The cover for issue #128 (1972) features Superman carrying a dead Lois Lane in his arms, surrounded by fellow Justice League members and wedding guests. As a bonus, said cover looks dangerously close to that of the famous Crisis on Infinite Earths #7, predating that one by almost a decade and a half.
