• Ensemble Dark Horse: The first character anyone remembers about this story isn't Superman, it isn't Mongul, it isn't Darkseid, it is Draaga, a character that doesn't appear until halfway in, but what a character he is. One of the great unsung gladiators, warriors and anti-heroes of not just science fiction, but fiction in general, Draaga established himself as a formidable opponent of Superman, a man of honour and ultimately the man needed to dethrone Mongul. Since then he has appeared in other media, famously portrayed by the great William Smith on Justice League in a performance that remains the definitive portrayal of the character.
