• I Knew It!: After the previous episode, some viewers began to suspect that William Dey was actually trying to save Dr. Jarrod and that he suspected Andrea Rojas was involved in the doctor's murder after remembering that he had been looking at a photo of Andrea with Dr. Jarrod in the second episode. This episode proves that William was Good All Along.
• Narm: The mood of James’ departure is killed when he says “You’ve never needed me,” to which it’s impossible not to nod in agreement as the writing crew notoriously never once seemed to have a solid idea of what to do with him. This is reinforced by Lena, his love interest for half his time on the show, being absent from his final scene. Granted that Lena is keeping her distance from Kara and her friends, but it's seem that the writers are doing their best to never mention their poorly received pairing again.
• Special Effect Failure: The decision to have Malefic in Martian form for most of his early appearances means that the weaknesses in CGI are more obvious, especially in this clip, where Malefic is overexpressive and very badly lit compared to his environment.
