YMMV / Supergirl (2015) S4E16 "The House of L"

• Moral Event Horizon: If everything Lex did before wasn't already enough, him trying to have Mikhail killed to further manipulate Red Daughter surely cements his status as an irredeemable bastard.
• Paranoia Fuel: The entire scene of Lex and Red Daughter at Kara's apartment. Not only does Lex casually reveal that he knows Supergirl's identity, but Alex arrives and seemingly has a conversation with her sister, totally unaware that Red Daughter isn't Kara and that Lex is lurking just out of sight with a gun, ready to kill her.
• Special Effects Failure:
  • The green screen used in the opening battle scene where Lex lifts the Daily Planet globe above his head is... not the most convincing, to put it mildly.
  • The scene where Red Daughter attacks the Navy ship is painfully obvious to be special effects matted over stock footage of a ship at sea.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Of all the people who else could have testified against Lex Luthor, Clark Kent was never present, even when James once said they were best friends.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot:
  • How cool would it have been to discover a few scenes throughout the season we thought were Kara were actually Red Daughter? Instead it's all new material set during Elseworlds.
  • However, the time frame matches some of the events in Elseworlds, but since Kara (and Clark) were mostly on Earth-1, no reference is made other than Kara being "on vacation in Smallville." Lex might have chosen this time to visit her apartment since there was no way she'd accidentally return home.
• The Woobie: Red Daughter starts as an amnesiac whose only desire is to help others, only to find herself as an unwitting pawn of first the Kaznian army, then Lex Luthor, who twists her good intentions to turn her into a living weapon for his own crusade for world domination. He even murders (or so he thinks) a boy she had befriended, just to sell his narrative that the United States is evil and that she has to fight against them, leaving the good-natured Red Daughter without a real friend in the world and set to wage war against an unsuspecting Supergirl.
